After Laredo's ONLY scrapbooking store closed some faithful scrapbookers and I wanted to continue getting together to...what else? SCRAPBOOK! We've been doing pretty good since the start of the new year. We've been meeting every month and taking turns at each other's houses doing so. At one of our crops, one of the members suggested and wanted to start a "Card Swap". It sounded like a wonderful idea and for that month's crop we managed to swap 4 cards each with each other. I can't wait for our next "Card Swap" since I've already used the ones I received!! Here's a look at the cards we all created.

New Money Holders!!
When I find or see new designs I get so inspired that I just have to try making them myself. This is just what I did with these nifty holders! They are the perfect thing to use when you don't exactly know what to give as a gift!!

p.s. I am also experimenting with my newest gadget...can you guess which one it is from the pictures?

Baby Album Brag Book

Every time I create any projects or albums about babies I get very nostalgic about my own. So when I found out one of my friends was expecting her second child I was drawn to create this simple and economical baby album.
Here is what I did:
-Choose three to four white(or brown) lunch paper bags
-Fold them in half and hole punch on the edge of the fold
-Choose theme papers and cut to size
-Determine where holes go before punching and cover
-Embellish with stickers, brads, ribbon, buttons
-Finally tie ribbons through holes to bind

Flower Power
During my spring break I took advantage of the week and visited my sister in Austin. One evening we had an awesome family get-to-gether with relatives that reside in Austin too. One of my cousins brought a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes. It was beautiful, delicious and yet so simple. That is where my sister got her inspiration for the theme of her best friend, Ana's Baby Shower. So she asked me to make her some invitations. Upon my return to Laredo I purchased a sunflower to mimic the cake's eye-catching centerpiece. I thought it was a good idea and was inspired to run with it!
This is a picture of the original cake

Here is the finished invitation!

Tinkerbell Decor
Here is another chipboard letter project I made for my cute niece, Baby Yvette. Since she was photographed as a Tinkerbell for Halloween I used that picture as my inspiration for the theme. I used her photograph and mounted it on the letter for a personalized and special touch.

Hope you like it Yvette!! Love, Tia Carmen :D

Baby Shower Gift

Here it is! On one of my previous posts, I had mentioned that I had made a gift card for a baby shower and I searched my computer files and luckily-I found it!
I took on a different media approach for this particular design. I stamped the title and the images inside. I then used embossing powder to raise them. This adds a tactile feeling to the card. I also inked the edges on the inside of the card to draw the eye to the center where the baby poem is positioned . Other embellishments I utilized were: buttons, brads in the shape of a button, and fibers.
