After Laredo's ONLY scrapbooking store closed some faithful scrapbookers and I wanted to continue getting together to...what else? SCRAPBOOK! We've been doing pretty good since the start of the new year. We've been meeting every month and taking turns at each other's houses doing so. At one of our crops, one of the members suggested and wanted to start a "Card Swap". It sounded like a wonderful idea and for that month's crop we managed to swap 4 cards each with each other. I can't wait for our next "Card Swap" since I've already used the ones I received!! Here's a look at the cards we all created.

New Money Holders!!
When I find or see new designs I get so inspired that I just have to try making them myself. This is just what I did with these nifty holders! They are the perfect thing to use when you don't exactly know what to give as a gift!!

p.s. I am also experimenting with my newest gadget...can you guess which one it is from the pictures?

Birthdays, and more birthdays!!
Last week we went to Dallas...and when I realized we would be there for Cindy's birthday, I made this card for her. I like the fact that I've been utilizing my Cricut more!

Harley-Davidson Gift Card
Using my Cricut

I've been trying to utilize my Cricut Machine more than I have since Charlie gave it to me. So when I found this book on Card Making with Cricut, I decided to invest in it since I own the Wild Card cartridge that is used many times in the book.
What I love about this book is that you are not obligated to make a particular card design. You can improvise the template or change its theme if you wish to do so. For example, originally this was a "Thank You" card but I changed it to be a birthday card instead. Another feature I like about the book is that it guides you step by step on the instructions in order to create your card. It doesn't have step-by-step pictures, but it does have a picture of the end product and the inside of it. I wish it did though. I still love the book and I have already created three of the designs presented in the book, which I will publish on another post.
The card came out nice and I love the color scheme! I love how the green "pops" out. I created it for my colleague and friend, Alma. Happy Birthday, A-Rod!! :D

Birthday Card in minutes!
This card was so simple to make that even my daughters can do it, well maybe not, but it was easy to assemble. I made it for an adult so I kept it simple. I used a precut stationary card and used my newly purchased Creative Memories cutting system to create the circles. I cut a miniature birthday card as the main embellishment for the front of the card. Then, I used a pre-printed quote piece from Abraham Lincoln as the focal point for the inside of the card and inked the card all around for a special touch. You can make one too...try it!

Random Card Project
I found this cute blog and bookmarked it for future reference. Then I needed to create a birthday card to hold a gift card and found this perfect sample. I utilized that same sketch but changed its theme. I also used the gift card as the tag rather than making one. I punched a hole through and tied two ribbons around it. The bottom image is my version of this random card project.

This is the sketch I used as a guide.

Birthday Card from scraps
I love it when I can make these because it's a no-brainer. I just use paper scraps from my left over pieces box (which I don't like to get rid of-and now you know why!).
I got this idea from Scrapbooks Etc. I cut the pieces to size and embellished with a tag sticker. I bought the tag sticker from the Dollar Tree as a birthday set. Inside I pre-printed the birthday greeting and finished it by adding another flower sticker.
